6/5/1755 - Edward White, “Innholder” of Bradford in Wilts, made a short will, making "my beloved wife" Elizabeth executor and main beneficiary of his estate, seeming to comprise quite a bit of real estate in Bradford, but in the way of "in trust" for his son Samuel on Elizabeth's death, (suggesting Samuel is his only son and a minor, but will inherit most of his father’s estate on his mother’s death), although out of this he leaves £100 each to his daus Susannah the wife of James Lee, and Sarah the wife of Robert Spencer, £200 to his (unm?) dau Elizabeth, £10 and his clothes to his son Samuel, and £20 to William Bennett the husband of his dau Mary.  He signed, witnessed by Dan Clutterbuck, Matthew White (mark of), and Richd Pearce.  [b]

 

May/June 1755 ? – Mary’s father Edward White died  [b]

 

17/6/1755 - The will was proved in London  [b]

 

31/3/1761 - Elizabeth White, widow of Bradford Wilts, made a detailed will, first leaving £130 to each of her four daughters - Susannah Lee wife of James Lee of Box in the County of Wilts Mason - Mary Bennett wife of William Bennett of Bradford Fundholder - Sarah Spencer wife of Robert Spencer of the parish of Box Innholder - and Elizabeth Collins [recently married?] wife of Samuel Collins of Bradford Victualler – then to her brother Edward Stevens the sum of £5 – then a list of specific clothing, (down to individual handkerchiefs, and some furniture to the  dau Elizabeth) to her daus - and everything else to son Samuel, making Samuel, plus James Lee and Richard Pearce Victualler of Bradford executors.  She signed with “the mark of”, and witnessed by Dan Clutterbuck and Geo Briggs   [c]
