John Bott & Mary Carter

John BOTT  [006]
Mary (CARTER ?)  [007]
===========================
These are the parents of Mary Elizabeth Bott [003] who married William Hollick [002] in Great Brington Nhnts in 1864
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

abt 1805 - The John Bott who married a Mary Carter in Blisworth in 1830, was born in Great Brington, Nhnts   [a]
(Where does it say his father was a John ??)
(The only John born to a John Bott in Leics or Nhnts 1795-1815 was 26/4/1807 in Packington Leics, mother Ann)

31/3/1805 to 30/3/1806 - The John Bott who was 45 and a "labourer on the roads", living in Brington with a wife Mary and four of their children in 1851, was born in Brington  [b]

7/6/1806 to 6/6/1811 - The John Bott who was "35" and living in Gt Brington with a Mary Bott in 1841, was born in Nhnts  [d]

abt 1809 - The Mary Carter who mar John Bott in Blisworth in 1830, was born  [a]

7/6/1811 to 6/6/1816 - The Mary Bott who was "30" and living in Gt Brington with a John Bott in 1841, was born in Nhnts  [d]

31/3/1813 to 30/3/1814 - The Mary Bott who was 37 and living in Brington with a husband John and four of their children in 1851, was born in Crick  [b]

1813/1814 - The Mary Bott who was a widowed charwoman and living in Brington in 1881, was born in Crick Nhnts  [c]

12/8/1829 - A John Carter born to a Mary Carter in Blisworth, no father shown  [a]

early 1800s - Oral history, ex Mary Eliz Bott's (bn 1841 below) grand-daughter Mary Eliz (nee Hollick) Burgess, has it that one of Mary Eliz Bott's brothers, possibly a John Thomas Bott, emigrated to Aust.  Hard to fit this with the family below.

------------------- MARRIED --------------------

2/8/1830 - A John Bott (who was born "abt 1805" in Grt Brington) married a Mary Carter (who was born "abt 1809") at Blisworth, Nhnts  [a]
(This is the only John Bott/Mary anyone marriage on the IGI in Nhnts or Leics 1820 - 1840.  The Mary below is continually referred to as being born Crick. Crick is by Jn 18 on M1, abt 10kms NW of Brington, but abt 30 kms NW of Blisworth, which is just south of Nthmptn.  Brixworth, also referred to regularly below, is abt 15kms east of Crick).

1829/1830 - The John Bott who was living with adults John and Mary Bott in Brington in 1841, was born in Nhnts  [d]

25/9/1831 - A Sarah Ann Bott bapt to John and Mary Bott at Brington Nhnts  [a]

20/3/1836 - A Harriett Bott bapt to John and Mary Bott at Brington Nhnts  [a]

21/1/1841 - A Mary Elizabeth Bott born in Brington to John Bott and Mary nee Carter (said to have been "bapt privately" 8/2/1841)   [a]

abt Feb 1841 - The Mary Bott who was living with adults John and Mary Bott in Brington in 1841, was born in Nhnts  [d]

6/6/1841 - Living in a house in Brington was John Bott (60, Labr), Mary Bott (75), George Anderson (30), Elizabeth Anderson (30), Richard Anderson (7), and Mary Ann Baker (30), all born Nhnts   [d]
(This Mary Bott must have died between 1841 above and 1851 where her husb is a "widower" - prob the 1847 death?)

6/6/1841 - Living in a house in Brington was John Bott (35), Mary Bott (30), John Bott (11), George Bott (7), Sarah Bott (9), and Mary Bott (4mo) all born Nhnts  [d]
(Note that 10 yrs later John “Bott” above seems to be called John “Carter” , aged 21, a “Son-in’law”  [b] )

12/7/1844 - A Helen Rebecca Bott bapt to John Bott and Mary nee Carter at Brington Nhnts  [a]

c 1847 – No Thomas Hinch born at Crick Nhnts  [a]  [f]

Sept Qtr 1847 - A Mary Bott died in the Brixworth dist  [f]
(The Mary nee Carter was alive through to 1881 Census, so assume this is the prior generation Mary Bott who had the Anderson grandkids)

10/4/1848 – A John Bott married a Mary Kinch (father William) at Naseby   [a]

Jun Qtr 1848 - A John Bott is listed on the same Brixworth marriages regn page as a Mary Kinch  [f]
(Is this John Bott Jr, and parents of Fanny below bapt Dec 1848, and something to do with the "stepson" Thomas Hinch/Kensh/Kinch born in Crick 1846/7?)

Sept Qtr 1848 - A Mary Bott died in the Brixworth dist  [f]

6/12/1849 - A Fanny Bott bapt to John Bott and Mary nee Hinch at Brington   [a]

30/3/1851 - (Brington residents, taken from the Brington book)  John Bott (71, widowed, Ag Lab), George Bott (17, unm, Ag Lab), John Bott (45, mar, Road Labr), William Bott (12, Ag Lab), all bn Brington, John Carter (21, unm, Ag Lab, bn Blisworth)  [b]

30/3/1851 - Living in a house in Brington was John Bott (71, Hd, Widower, Ag Lab), his widowed dau Elizabeth Anderson (43), two grand-daus Charlotte Anderson (9, scholar) and Sarah Anderson (7, scholar), all born Brington, and a grandson Willie Masters (25, mason bricklayer, bn Nether Heyford Nhnts  [b]

30/3/1851 - Living in Brington was John Bott (45, "Labourer on Roads", bn Brington), his wife Mary (37, bn Crick), son George (17), dau Sarah (19), dau Mary (10), dau Rebecca (6), and dau Fanny (1), all born Brington.  Also in the house was John's "son-in-law" John Carter (21, AgLab, born Blisworth), John's "son-in-law" Thomas Hinch (4, born Crick), and John's "grandaughter" Mary Bott (5m, born Brixworth)   [b]
(John Carter is really John's stepson - ref 1861 Census - probably Mary's son, the one born 1829 before she married)
(Thomas "Hinch" is surely Thomas Kinch - shown as "stepson" in 1861 Census - and was probably the one born Rugby dist, which covered Crick, in Dec qtr 1846  [f] )
(Mary Bott is possibly the dau of his eldest son John?)

4/11/1853 - A William Bott bapt to John and Mary Bott at Brington Nhnts  [a]

1851 to 1861 - John Bott (the elder above) died?  [b] [e]

Jun Qtr 1859 - A John Bott died in the Northampton regn dist (which covered Brington and Brixworth)  [f]

8/4/1861 - Living in Brington was John Bott (56, Hd, AgLab, bn Brington), his wife Mary Bott (45, charwoman, bn Crick), his stepson Thomas Hinch (14, AgLab, bn Crick), dau Fanny Bott (11, scholar, bn Brington), and son William Bott (7, scholar, bn Brington).  [e]
(Living 2 houses before on his own was a Henry Bott, Hd, 70, widower, AgLab, bn Brington).

8/4/1861 - A Mary E Bott (20, bn Gt Brington) was working as a servant in the house of Ann Fallside & children, in Dunchurch Wks    [e]
(There is also a Rebecca Bott, 17, bn Brington, working as a servant in Teeton Nhnts)

12/7/1861 – A John Bott (Anglican) aged 56 (= bn c1805) was buried at Brington’s St Mary & St Joseph  [g]

3/4/1881 - Living in Brington Nhnts was William Bott (27), Ag Lab, born Grt Brington, his wife Betsy (24) born East Haddon, with 2 small children born Brington, but also his mother Mary Bott (67), widow, Charwoman, born Crick Nhnts  [c]

3/4/1881 - Living in Brington was Charles Redley (35) and wife Fanny (30), born Brington, but also his mother-in-law Mary Bott (66), widow, Charwoman, born Crick Nhnts  [c]
(Hard to not believe these two Mary Botts aren't the same person, counted twice in the same Census, even with ages one year dif.  Also note East Haddon is not far south of Crick, and John & Mary had a dau Fanny, born abt 1850 in Brington acc to 1851 Census).

March Qtr 1902 - A Mary Bott, aged 88 (= bn c1814), died in the Brixworth area  [f]
