13/12/1816 to 12/12/1817 - The Samuel Skinner who dep Plymouth in 1838 on the "Argyle" for Sydney, was born to a William Skinner of TWs  [b] 

6/7/1823 - James Skinner and Sarah Monckton married in the parish church at Tonbridge   [a] 

22/4/1829 – A William Skinner, 52, buried St Marys Anglican in Speldhurst  [j] 

8/6/1832 – A Samuel Skinner arr NSW on the (convict ship?) “John”  [j] 

26/11/1838 - A Samuel Skinner married Martha Quinnell (father George) in the Tonbridge Dist  [b]  [h] 

12/12/1838 - A Samuel Skinner (21) departed Plymouth on the "Argyle", bound for Sydney, brought out by Mr John Marshall.  Samuel was a Labourer from Tunbridge Wells, a son of William Skinner of TWs (Labourer), and had been a bricklayer, of very good character (per Thos McSweeey & John Snell, builders of TWs), very good health, religion CofE, "can read and write a little".  On the same certif, Martha Skinner (20) of TWs, dau of George Quinnell (Stone Cutter) of TWs, had been a Laundress, of very good character, very good health, religion CofE, "can read and write a little". They arrived Sydney 1/4/1839 (no kids listed).  [b] 

13/12/1840 - A John Skinner (age 27), a carpenter from Kent, emigrated to Vic on the "Orient", Protestant, reads & writes, "paid $19 bounty"   [c] 

6/6/1841 - The only William AND Elizabeth Skinner abt right age are in Loose, Kent.  Neither shown in TWs.  [m] 

27/8/1859 - William's brother Robert died and was buried in Speldhurst  [e]
