(Oral history
within the family suggests that Mary Ann’s husband William Henry Cooper
disappeared from the scene about this time, possibly emigrating to America, but
there’s no record).

Colston), with her dau Ada Florence Cooper, set up a family home together in

his own business, had a horse & trap, but later lost it all and became a
skilled stonemason, worked on Wells cathedral, walking there from Shepton,

10/10/1914 - John Henry Burgess left ₤44.15.7 in his will,
which reads...
".. of me
John Henry Burgess Billposter of Garston St Shepton Mallet .. appoint Henry
James Gardner (a mason) Kings Arms Inn Shepton Mallet to be my executor ..
bequeath unto my son Willie and my daughter Ada Florence the household
furniture & effects and moneys in Lloyds Bank in equal shares ... "
