Strays are those things that attracted some attention at the time of research, but proved to be not connected, or they are background data to someone's story, but not used in full. They may be of use to someone. There will be many more of these when we get to clean out the filing cabinet, as generally we didn't digitise them when they turned out to be not "ours".
