Osborn

Now digging into the OSBORN files....

First thing I came across was an excellent reference book for background research on the South Aust OSBORNS and those associated with them in the colonial days....

“A History of Gumeracha and District, South Australia, 1839-1939”
- edited by J.E. Monfries.

.... and for South Aussies at least, there's a copy available to borrow on the One Library system.

If you're descended from from James Horn OSBORN and Sara ASH, who emigrated to South Aust and later went to live in Wentworth in NSW, (including such names as GEAKE,  MacGEORGE, NICHOLS, PERRING, SUMMERS),  there's plenty of basic data available online so I won't add to it here, just Google....
"Dinah Sarah Osborn"

... and the hits will jump out at you, plenty to pick from.

The town of Wentworth has a really good Historical Society, with quite a lot of OSBORN and associated families' data lodged, including cemetery records. Link below, but once we're out of this Covid mayhem, it's a town worth visiting for a few days, whether you're family connected with the place or not.

And as always, the ANA Trove Newspaper Archive can be a great source of family info, just hunt down those that covered the Murray-Darling-Wentworth area in the mid-late 1800s....
