    (Can't find a reasonably relevant birth/bapt for a Dinah Horne, although Horn and its variations are fairly common in the West Country)

8/8/1802 - A James "Osmond" was bapt at Kenton Devon, to John Osmond and his wife Dinah   [a]
    (While the "Lock" and "Horne" names, along with "James" and "Dinah", make a strong case for a link, the "Osman" spelling is an odd variation, compounded by the fact that it's a legitimate surname in many area. Also the apparent "two families" above and below, broken by 7-8 years, is off-putting, as is the recycling of two of the kid's names, although neither of these things are at all rare in families of this period, assuming that at least the "first" John and James both died in infancy.
    (Powderham, Starcross, and Kenton are all adjacent to each other just south of Exeter on the western edge of the Exe estuary). 

11/4/1810 to 10/4/1811 - James Horn Osborne (who aged 29 married a Jane Asche in Star Cross Devon, and had a dau Dinah Sarah), was born to John Osborne a Sailor, in Star Cross Devon.  [b] 

31/5/1811 - A `James Osborn' born at Kenton in Devon (as part of bapt notes below).  [c] 

16/6/1811 - A `James Osborn' bapt in the parish church at Kenton, the son of John and Dinah Osborn.  [a] [c] 

18/7/1813 - A `Dinah Osborne' bapt in Kenton Devon, to John and Dinah Osborne.  Father listed as "Seaman". [c] 

18/7/1813 - A Dinah "Osborne" was bapt at Kenton Devon, to John Osborne and his wife Dinah.   [a] 

c 1814 - A John Osborn born in Devon, who came to SA on the "Velocity" about 1854, and was a tanner at Hindmarsh in 1868.  [d] 

26/10/1817 - A Dinah "Osborne" died (at Kenton ?), parents John and Dinah Osborne  [a]
