In 2013 we did a lot of research in the Slieve Lochra (Millstreet, Boherbue, Castleisland area in north Co Cork) looking for background on the HICKEY's, who were said to traditionally be the blacksmiths of the region, having originated in Cullen to the south, and spread out north over the generations - see "The Irish Couple Who Barely Existed" below to the left). We have a bunch of stuff on this, starting with this small batch from the Millstreet Library. But there's quite a lot more to come.
