30/5/1851 - Living in Newton Linford Leics was an Edward Topley (44, bn Mountsorrel, AgLab), and wife Elizabeth (54, bn Newton Linford), and grand-dau Ann Greasly  [e]
    (Swithland and Newtown Linford are abt 2-3 kms apart, just NW of Leicester city.  Mountsorrel is abt 2km NE of Swithland, and is an adjoining parish - could be the same thing?)

30/5/1851 - There was a Thomas Topley (servant, bn Newton Linford c1836) living at Ansty in Leics  [e] 

19/11/1859 - A Thomas Topley (father Edward, a Labourer, who signed with X) married a Susannah Taylor at Stony Stanton Leics  [b] 

7/4/1861 - A Sarah Topley (mar, 58 = bn c1803, in Markfield Leics) was a Visitor to house of Isaac Vesty(?), (27) Coal Heaver, and wife Emily and 2 infant children at St Leonards Cottages(?) in Hugglescote in Leics   [c]
    (May be no close relative.  Hugglescote isn't on AA map, but is in modern Coalville area, abt 5-6kms NW of Markfield and Newtown Linford). 

3/4/1881 - No Edward Topley aged about 70 to 80 in the Census  [d]
