Unknown CHAPMAN [ 014 ]

This is the father of the Ann Chapman who
was married to a John Evans, and whose daughter married William Bennett Edmonds
in 1838.

Henry Chapman of Notting Hill, a timber merchant in partnership with his
brother-in-law Joseph Lambert (co-executor) in the Pimlico wharves area, writes
a will leaving BP100 to "sister Ann Evans .. of Adelaide Sth Aust" on
the condition she return to England. He
also mentions his brother Richard James Chapman, a farmer of Haddenham Bucks,
his wife Isabel (co-executor), his nephew John Chapman (in his employ, who
seems to get all of William's business interests aside from an annuity for his
wife), and a married niece Mary Scott.

of testator).

area NE of Pimlico) [e]

Chapman (58, born Cuddington), farmer of 90 acres with 5 labourers, living at
South End in Dist of Haddenham in Bucks, with wife Ann (44, born Haddenham),
and 7 kids (18 -> 3 yo, inc a William H and a Richard, but no Thomas) all
born Haddenham [d]
(If this is the only brother then
William's "nephew John Chapman has to be Richards above, born say 1825 if
say about 20 in 1845 at time of will, so was he the only son of a first
marriage and not Ann above's son?)
