Irish websites

These are some of the Irish research websites we found particularly useful, mainly concerning the Cork and Kerry areas, and used in chasing down the HURLEY, HICKEY, DALY, DONOVAN, CRONIN families of that area, although some of them are also Ireland-wide and very useful.

And before I forget, if you're into the Slieve Lauchra area of Munster and haven't had the good fortune of running into it, there's a collection worth tracking down. It's the one done by Dr Albert Eugene Casey of Birmingham Alabama in the early 1950s, in which (as I understand it) he scoured every original parish, and other, records he could find, and "compiled" them into a large and slightly challenging set of books, which I don't think have ever been put into a searchable database, although a limited number of Libraries around the world have a copy.  This link is to LDS FamilySearch, who seem to have done something with it.

There are plenty of other good Irish databases nowadays, which you may have already fallen over, but just in case you've missed one, have a click through these (and there's quite a few more yet to come)...
