Colonial Edmonds

These are mostly from the Family History artefacts that were kept on the farm of Ernest Harry Edmonds at Pygery SA, having been handed down to him from or through his parents John Hinton Edmonds and Mary Louisa Puplett (see "The One Handed Lad From The Channel Country" and "Will and Beth - A Small Colonial Epic").

This is a note written by William Bennett Edmonds's mother-in-law Ann Evans at their home in Old Noarlunga SA just before her death, concerning the disposal of an inheritance from her brother in England.

This is a large map (here in five parts) of Comongin Stn in SW Qld, where John Hinton Edmonds was employed, and where his son Ernest Harry Edmonds was born in 1883.

This is a note kept amongst the farm artefacts, relating to some of the grandchildren of William Bennett Edmonds and Eliz Anne (nee Evans).

This is the marriage certificate of John Hinton Edmonds and Mary Louisa Puplett at Virginia SA in 1874.

This is Mary Louisa Puplett's baptism certificate from the Anglican Church in Yankalilla in 1869.

This is the original note (and a transcription for some reason, with the wrong name "Hester" instead of "Ruth" on it) from lawyers in Bristol in 1892, concerning the death of William Bennett Edmonds's unmarried sister Ruth.

This, sadly, is all that remains of William Bennett Edmonds's and Elizabeth Ann Evans's original marriage certificate from Poplar Parish Msx in 1818. At some time the piece at the bottom right was still present, and said that her father's profession was a "Silk Mercer".
