23/5/1804 - A Sarah Lewis married an Abraham Britton in SM. Both signed regr with X.  [h]

6/6/1841 - Living together at Darshill SM was William Burgess (45, weaver, bn Som), Sarah Burgess (60, bn Som), Isaac Burgess (18, Cordwainer Ap, bn Som), Abraham Burgess (16, Labourer, bn Som), and Eliza Burgess (12, Silk Thrower?, bn Som)  [k] 

20/2/1849 - William died at SM aged 59  [p] 

March Qtr 1849 - A William Burgess died in Shepton Mallet  [n] 

29/4/1849 - Eliza Burgess (a minor) dau of William Burgess of Townsend SM, labourer, married Wm Ivey, labourer of Grt Ostry, son of John Ivey, witn Isaac Burgess and Eliza Goldedge (?)  [h] 

11/7/1850 - Sarah died at SM, aged 61  [f] 

Sept Qtr 1850 - A Sarah Burgess died at Shepton Mallet  [n] 

31/3/1851 - William and Sarah not shown in Census  [e] 

31/3/1851 - (Census) Mary Ann Burgess (age 32 ?), unm, hawker, was a lodger with Peter Colston and his wife Frances in SM.  [f]
    (Can't find this in Ancestry.com Index) ???? 

31/3/1851 - Living together in Shepton are Rebecca Burgess (Head, bn SM 1786 - this is surely Mary Ann's brother John Burgess's wife?), and Mary Ann Burgess (sister-in-law, bn SM 1810) along with two daughters, and son-in-law Robert Brown.  [e] 

31/3/1851 – An Eliza Ivey was a “Boarder” in Stoke Lane, SM  [e] 

11/9/1853 - William was described as "Servant, deceased" on his son Isaac's mar certif  [m] 

8/4/1861 - (Census) Mary Ann Burgess, (age 52 ?), unm, Fundholder, was a lodger in the home of her "dau-in-law" Sarah Burgess in High St Shepton M  [f] 

8/4/1861 - Living as a lodger in the Shepton house of Mary S Burgess (Head, bn 1797 SM), was Mary Ann Burgess (bn 1810 SM), along with a Sarah Burgess (sister-in-law to Head, bn 1830 SM).  On the same sheet is a Robert Brown (bn 1826 SM) and his family.   [d] 

2/4/1871 - (Census) Mary Ann Burgess (William's sister, who had the big stone erected), aged 60, unm, income "from dividends and interest", was a lodger in the home of Michael Burgess (52) and his wife Mary (50), in Castle Court, SM. In same house was a Hannah S Burgess, their dau (21), and four lodgers.  [f]  [c] 

26/4/1878 - The Mary Ann Burgess, who had the family headstone erected in the SM churchyard, died in SM  [q] 

3/4/1881 - Eliz Ivey (bn abt 1830 in SM) was living in Ystradyfodwg Wales with her husband William Ivey (a “Coker”, bn abt 1823 Norwich), and their 4 kids (all bn Wales) and a lodger  [j] 

31/3/1901 - Abraham Burgess (77, widower, "Living on own means", born SM) was living with his niece Sarah (Isaac's dau) and her husband Frances Burridge and 4 children, at Yew Tree Farm in Blagdon Som.  [b] 

31/3/1901 - Eliz Ivey (bn abt 1829 in SM) was living in Ystradyfodwg Wales with her son-in-law William Roberts (bn abt 1871 in Wales) and his wife Matilda (bn Wales) and 3 of their children (all bn Trealaw Wales), plus an Ivey niece and stepson (of William Roberts)  [b] 

31/3/1901 - Eliza Ann Ivey (bn abt 1865 in SM) and her husband Abraham (bn abt 1865 Aberdare Wales) were living in Ystradyfodwg Wales, with their 3 kids (and a boarder, a Llewellyn Roberts, bn 1858 in Northop Kent)  [b] 

Sept ¼ 1904 – An Abraham Burgess died aged 79, in Blagdon RD, Somerset  [n] 

11/9/1904 - Abraham died aged 79, a "widower", worked as a sea captain, later years an engine driver, buried in SM cemetery  [f]
