(James’ father (if he was Wm martin Haines) had a brother James,
so was this William Haines (later of Tea Tree Gully in SA) my James’ brother,
or cousin ?? )

Melksham 1812, and a Ruth at Melksham 1821, but there is no Thomas
Flower/Harriet mar in Wilts c1809. Hannah, Harriet, and Ruth are all names used
by subsequent family. George Haines used Cecelia. Seend and Melksham are both
very close to Worton)

(There's a James Pierce, 60, AgLab, bn Wilts, in the 1841 Census entry
immed following James and Hannah's entry.
There is a James Haines, 74, in the 1851 Poulshot Census)

for Sth Aust on the "Trafalger" (298 emigrant passengers, there were
17 deaths en route), James listed as a labourer of Wilts (Devizes?). Depositors were E Solomon, Matthew Smith,
and William Haines [m]
(Had 2 boys and 5 girls aged 1 to 15, but the 3 yo Elizabeth died on the
voyage out) [m]

the register (all coming from Devizes) was James (34), Hannah (35), Mary (13),
and Sarah (11) - (E Solomon & Matthew Smith depositors), and Henry (10),
Ruth (7), George (5), Elizabeth (3), and Catherine (baby) - William Haines
depositor. [p]
1850's - "James and family rented a
cottage on the road just north of Col Light Sq, one of his sponsors was
Emmanuel Solomon who he would work for ... then settled in TTG on 40 acres of
prime land sold to them by William ... "

Kapunda?), and that James was William Haines Snr’s brother, and it was
